Job summary

LEMOINE is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support safety programs across active construction projects in Louisiana. The role involves site visits, hazard recognition, employee training, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of communicating with craft workers, subcontractors, and project leadership. Travel to assigned sites will be required, with a focus on maintaining safe operations across projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in construction-safety environments and OSHA practices is required.
• OSHA 30 Construction certification or ability to obtain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of safety policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
• Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections and document unsafe conditions and hazards.
• Communicate concerns to project leadership and assist with corrective actions.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and project standards.
• Assist with new-hire safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Verify use of required PPE by employees and subcontractors.
• Prepare job hazard analyses, pre-task plans, permits, and related safety documentation.
• Maintain accurate safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
• Assist with incident investigations and gather evidence and witness statements.
• Track corrective actions and ensure hazards are resolved.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and communicate concerns to the team.
• Join project meetings and safety-planning sessions.
• Assist with emergency-response planning and drills.
• Monitor housekeeping, access routes, fall protection, and high-risk activities.
