Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with 1 year of safety experience
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques
• Familiar with Federal, State, and Local EH&S regulations
• Familiar with general construction operations
• Ability to identify safety related exposures and propose corrective actions
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow direction and commitments
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Analytical thinking, good judgment and problem-solving
• Able to work non-structured environment and adapt priorities
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools
• Limited travel may be required; access to reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide training on safe work practices and EH&S programs
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with policies and regulations
• Review subcontractors training per OSHA standards
• Promote safe work practices and conditions per regulations and owner contracts
• Administer drug screening program per requirements
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisor
• Conduct worker orientation and record participation
• Gather Pre-Task Plans and Job Hazard Analyses for contractors
• Maintain safety records (PTPs, JHAs, logs, MSDS)
• Conduct safety meetings and document minutes
• Maintain logs of toolbox safety meetings and report to supervisor
• Conduct site safety audits and issue corrective actions
• Identify and report safety violations, focusing on imminent danger
• Other duties as assigned
