Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily construction site safety activities for advanced facilities projects
  • Support accident prevention and loss control programs for construction operations

  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation including JHAs, AHAs, PTPs, SOPs, HWPs

  • Drive continuous safety improvements across projects

Position Summary

The Construction Safety Coordinator supports and coordinates construction site safety activities for semiconductor manufacturing and advanced facilities projects. This position assists in implementing safety programs designed to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, property damage, and financial risk while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout project operations.

The Construction Safety Coordinator works closely with project management, field supervision, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives to help ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and client-specific safety standards commonly associated with semiconductors and advanced technology construction environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating daily construction site safety activities for advanced facilities projects.
  • Support implementation of accident prevention and loss control programs for construction operations in Arizona.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, company policies, and client safety standards.
  • Assist with preparation, review, and maintenance of safety documentation including:
  • Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
  • Pre-Task Plans (PTPs)
  • Lift Plans
  • Confined Space Permits
  • Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Emergency Response Plans
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Hot Work Permits (HWPs)
  • Compressed Gases - Storage & Use Permits
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up activities.
  • Track and maintain safety records, inspection reports, corrective actions, and training documentation.
  • Assist with emergency response planning, evacuation drills, and rescue preparedness activities.
  • Support project management and field supervision in integrating safety into daily work activities and planning.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing employee training.
  • Monitor high-risk construction activities including:
    • Crane and rigging operations
    • Steel erection
    • Electrical work
    • Excavation and trenching
    • Confined space entry
    • Work at heights
    • Hot work operations
    • Chemical handling and hazardous materials
    • Communicate safety concerns and recommendations to supervisors, contractors, and project leadership.
  • Conduct or assist with new hire and subcontractor orientations, including onboarding subcontractors and their employees to standard site safety practices, required paperwork, site-specific safety requirements, access procedures, and client expectations.
  • Conduct or assist with toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing employee and subcontractor training.
  • Assist with implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable safety regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience preferred; semiconductor, industrial, manufacturing, or data center construction experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA construction standards and construction safety practices.
  • Ability to identify hazards and support corrective action implementation.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and management teams.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
Preferred Certifications
  • Field and trade work experience preferred
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction
  • CHST, ASP, or equivalent certification preferred
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Confined Space Training
  • Fall Protection Training
  • Crane & Rigging Awareness Training
  • HAZWOPER Certification
  • NFPA 70E Awareness Training
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed primarily on active construction sites in indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Exposure to construction hazards including noise, dust, heavy equipment, elevated work areas, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk jobsites extensively and wear required personal protective equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to access active construction areas including stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and confined spaces when necessary.
  • Ability to wear required PPE including respirators when applicable.
