Position Overview: The Project Safety Manager will oversee all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of a long-term project in the MEP or built environment sector. The role involves ensuring a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, maintaining safety documentation, and implementing safety best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Safety Management:
- Implement and enforce safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct site inspections and safety audits for compliance.
- Identify hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Training and Development:
- Deliver safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Ensure familiarity with safety protocols and PPE use.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA and other safety regulations.
- Stay updated on industry safety standards.
- Incident Management:
- Investigate safety incidents and report findings.
- Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and training.
- Collaboration:
- Work with project teams to integrate safety into planning.
- Act as primary safety contact on the project.
- Documentation:
- Maintain safety plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
- Ensure documentation accuracy and accessibility.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Monitor safety performance and recommend improvements.
- Incorporate new safety technologies and practices.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Safety Management (CSM).
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience in MEP or built environment sectors.
- 1-2 years in safety management, preferably in manufacturing or related fields.
- Strong leadership and independent working skills.
