Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Denver seeks an entry-level Environmental Health & Safety specialist to help enforce safety policies on our construction projects.

You will support hazard control, training, and safety program administration at the Denver project sites, contributing to a safer workplace and compliance with regulations. This is a non-remote, on-site role with room to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field; at least 1 year of construction safety experience.
• Basic knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
• Familiar with Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations.
• Familiar with general construction operations.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and propose corrective actions.
• Demonstrates leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and follow through with commitments.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking, good judgment and problem-solving.
• Able to adapt in non-structured environments and reprioritize with management.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills; MS Office.
• Limited travel may be required; access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training on safe work practices and EH&S programs.
• Review subcontractor safety programs for compliance with regulations and contracts.
• Promote safe work practices and working conditions.
• Administer drug screening program per requirements.
• Coordinate preconstruction meetings with supervisor.
• Conduct worker orientation and record participation.
• Gather PTPs and JHAs for contractors.
• Maintain safety records including OSHA 300 log and MSDS.
• Conduct safety meetings and record minutes.
• Inspect project sites and issue corrective action reports.
• Report hazards or violations promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
