Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH company, is seeking a Safety Manager in Irving, TX to lead the EHS program for construction operations. You will train and oversee site teams, perform audits, and drive safety improvements across locations to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in an occupational safety field and at least five years of managerial safety experience, with familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, TXDOT and FMCSA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an occupational safety-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial safety experience in a large company.
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state, local and company regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training, oversight and compliance support to all lines of business and construction operations.
  • Conduct site visits to promote safety awareness and address issues with management and staff.
  • Coach management and employees toward safe behaviors and corrective actions.
  • Oversee contractor safety, qualifications, insurance, and high-hazard work oversight.
  • Perform periodic safety audits, document findings and track corrective timelines.
  • Participate in safety pre-planning for large projects and subcontractor-led work.
  • Develop and share best practices across facilities and operations.
  • Support Safety/Event Learning Teams and develop future safety leaders.
  • Oversee the 5S safety program and PPE procurement processes.
  • Develop Job Safety Analyses for tasks and hazards; coordinate incident investigations.
  • Coordinate worker's compensation matters and liaison with health providers and insurers.
  • Deliver EH&S training and Train-the-Trainer programs; supervise driver training.
  • Ensure motor carrier compliance with USDOT and TXDOT requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR, EHS and safety teams to drive new initiatives.
  • Assist in defending the Group against claims and coordinate with CRH/AMAT corporate input.
