Job summary

Fessler & Bowman, Inc. is seeking a Risk & Claims Manager in Michigan to oversee all active workers' compensation claims, coordinate return-to-work opportunities, and maintain strict claim documentation.

You will partner with HR, Safety, and field leaders to ensure timely medical care, compliant leave, and strong communication with injured team members across regions. Travel to regional offices is required as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of workers' compensation claims management experience across multiple states.
• Experience coordinating return-to-work and modified duty programs.
• Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and WC intersections.
• Advanced proficiency with WC carrier/TPA coordination and adjuster communication.
• Strong documentation and compassionate communication with injured team members.

Responsibilities

• Manages all active workers' compensation claims from intake through closure.
• Leads return-to-work and modified duty coordination with field supervisors and leadership.
• Maintains accurate records of active claims, restrictions, and accommodations across regions.
• Coordinates with carriers/TPAs on claim status, treatment authorizations, and medical management.
• Provides regular reporting to Director of Risk Management and supports carrier meetings.
