Job summary

SOCOTEC, Inc. is a specialized consulting firm serving the architecture, engineering and construction industries, focusing on high‑performance buildings and risk management.

As a Summer Intern in our Advisory Group, you’ll work on active projects alongside Associates and Managers, gaining hands‑on experience in financial analysis, project controls and schedules while contributing to real client work.

Most work is office‑based with occasional site visits and mentorship from senior professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial records and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while managing individual assignments with limited supervision.
• Curious, proactive mindset with a genuine interest in learning practical applications of coursework.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to construction-related and business damages while developing skills in financial analysis, project schedules, and claims analysis.
• Calculate monetary damages and assist with claims preparation.
• Analyze construction schedules to identify delays and evaluate responsibility.
• Review financial records, contracts, statements, and other accounting documentation.
• Collaborate with Associates and Managers across multiple projects and cases.
• Occasionally visit project sites; most work is office-based.
