Job summary

C1S Group in Dallas is offering a summer internship for students in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields. You will work with seasoned professionals on real projects, gaining exposure to idea, design, construction, and finished facilities.

You'll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers, learn to read plans, and support documentation, safety walks, and field activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Curious about how things are designed, built, and brought to life.
• Self-starter who is motivated, willing to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.
• Comfortable communicating with others and working as part of a team.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Available to commit to 8–10 weeks of full-time work during the summer or 4-5 weeks in the winter.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on exposure to construction and engineering project workflows.
• Work alongside project managers, superintendents, engineers, designers, and other project team members.
• Learn how to read and understand plans and specifications.
• Assist with project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, logs, and other project records.
• Support construction teams with safety walks, site audits, quality reviews, and field activities.
• Assist with estimating and bid preparation, including quantity surveying, pricing, and proposals.
• Support engineering and design teams with project administration and assigned design tasks.
• Learn how design decisions impact what happens in the field and vice versa.
• Participate in project meetings with clients, contractors, and other design professionals.
• Assist with scheduling, planning, coordination, and project updates.
• Use industry software and technology, including REVIT, Bluebeam, Procore, and design/project management tools.
• Help identify ways to make our teams and processes more efficient.
• Participate in C1S team-building activities, because work should be more than just work.
