Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Summer Intern for its US - Engineering Advanced Analysis team. You will work on active projects from day one, gaining hands-on experience in construction damages, financial analysis, schedules, and claims, alongside Associates and Managers.

You will review financial records, assist with damages calculations, and learn project controls while integrating into a collaborative team. Office-based with occasional site visits, this internship provides mentorship and practical

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret financial records, contracts, and project schedules.
• Excel proficiency is a plus but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated interest in construction, engineering, finance, or dispute/claims consulting.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also handling individual assignments with limited supervision.
• Curious, proactive mindset with a genuine interest in practical applications of coursework.
• Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in construction, accounting, or financial analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Calculating monetary damages and assisting with claims preparation.
• Analyzing construction schedules to identify delays and evaluate responsibility.
• Reviewing financial records, contracts, statements, and other accounting documents.
• Assisting with calculations related to lost profits and changes in property value.
• Supporting analysis of project costs, schedules, and financial impacts.
• Conducting research and analysis to support client projects.
• Collaborating with Associates and Managers across various projects and cases.
