Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Construction Quality Manager I to own the QC program on a single project under a senior quality manager. Responsibilities include maintaining the inspection and test plan, scheduling and witnessing tests, writing the daily QC report, and opening/tracking nonconformances until they close.

The role leads from on-site supervision to a larger program path, with travel to various sites as needed and a focus on maintaining audit-ready documentation and test

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• At least one: ACI Grade I, NICET Level II, ICC special inspector, or USACE CQM-C certificate.
• Able to read specifications and drawings and turn them into a test schedule.
• Direct, organized, and comfortable telling a superintendent that a lift does not pass.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project ITP and testing frequency log against the specifications; Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests; verify certifications of the technicians performing them; Write the daily quality control report and the three-phase (preparatory, initial, follow-up) meeting records; Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record; Keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
• The week looks like coordinating look-ahead pours and lifts, ensuring testing coverage, and documenting the process; when a test fails, own NCR and communicate with the engineer; maintain quality records.
• Quality Manager I is a stepping stone to Quality Manager II, with sponsorship for required certifications and growth into larger programs.
