Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Construction Quality Manager I to own the quality control program on a single project under a senior quality manager. Responsibilities include maintaining the ITP, scheduling and witnessing tests, and producing the daily QC report.

You will open and track nonconformances until closure and ensure audit-ready submittals and certifications. The role advances from field inspection to management, with sponsored training and clear paths to more senior QM

Qualifications

3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
Credentials in listed certifications (ACI Grade I, NICET II, ICC special inspector, USACE CQM-C).
Able to read specifications and drawings and translate into a test schedule.

Responsibilities

Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and testing frequency log against the specifications; schedule and witness field and laboratory tests.
Verify certifications of the technicians performing tests; write the daily quality control report and three-phase meeting records.
Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record; keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
The week starts with look-ahead planning for pours and lifts, witnesses tests, ensures calibrations are current, and documents outcomes in the daily report.
If a test fails, own the NCR process and coordinate with the engineer to drive corrective actions and retesting until approval.
