SOCOTEC, in Washington state, seeks a Construction Quality Assurance Testing Technician (WAQTC/ACI) to support field testing and inspections. This full-time role involves reviewing drawings, reporting findings, coordinating sample collection, and ensuring materials meet project specifications.

The position emphasizes communication, documentation, and adherence to contract documents, with opportunities to obtain additional certifications and advance within the team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• No prior construction industry experience required.
• Preferred certifications: ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WAQTC, WABO.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Material Testing (Certifications Required).
• Review approved drawings and specifications.
• Communicate findings to contractor workers and project managers.
• Write concise inspection reports aligned to contract documents and codes.
• Coordinate with AAR office for observations, scheduling and sample pickup.
• Inspect and verify materials for compliance per plans and specs.
• Complete quality records for material testing.
• Review contract documents and ensure contractor compliance.
• Possibility to obtain additional field testing certifications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Material Testing (Certifications Required)
• Review approved construction drawings and specifications
• Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
• Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
• Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
• Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
• Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
• Review of contract documents
• Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
• The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Authorization to work in the United States
• No previous experience in the construction industry is required
• Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record
• Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload

Salary Range: $22-34/hour, depending on qualifications
