Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Construction Quality Manager I to own the quality control program for a single project, reporting to a senior quality manager. You will keep the inspection and test plan current, schedule and witness tests, and write daily QC reports, while opening and tracking nonconformances until they close.

This role is the first management step for a field inspector or technician aiming to own the program, with sponsored training and a path to higher QC roles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction materials testing, special inspection, or contractor QC.
• At least one of: ACI Grade I, NICET Level II, ICC special inspector, or USACE CQM-C certificate.
• Able to read specifications and drawings and turn them into a test schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP) and the testing frequency log against the specifications; Schedule and witness field and laboratory tests.
• Verify certifications of the technicians performing them; Write the daily quality control report and the three-phase meeting records.
• Open, track, and close nonconformance reports with the superintendent and the engineer of record; Keep submittal, mix design, and material certification files audit-ready.
• The week includes look-ahead pours and lifts, witnessing tests, ensuring certifications and calibrations are current, and writing the daily report.
• When a test fails, own the NCR process and coordinate with the engineer of record and superintendent through retests and corrective action.
