Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Construction QA/QC Engineer to lead and oversee quality aspects of retrofitting an existing factory into a state-of-the-art battery manufacturing plant for a high-profile client. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of excellent project delivery, particularly in quality assurance, quality control, and safety management within the construction industry.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Supporting internal teams and stakeholders, overseeing construction efforts and progress reporting.
  2. Managing contracts and budgets, ensuring alignment with project financial plans.
  3. Developing and coordinating detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  4. Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations through regular site inspections and audits.
  5. Identifying and addressing quality, safety, health, and environmental issues.
  6. Proactively managing construction risks and coordinating general contractor actions on risk mitigation.
  7. Reviewing drawings for constructability and providing input during early project phases.
  8. Creating and coordinating various reports for the construction team, including daily, monthly, and event reports.
  9. Issuing meeting minutes and documentation for site progress and other meetings.
  10. Supporting the RFI and submittal process, ensuring alignment with budgets.
  11. Assisting the client project manager in coordinating construction efforts, safety, QA/QC, and labor relations programs.
  12. Establishing success criteria focusing on time, cost, technical, and quality performance.
  13. Supporting contractor and procurement strategies.
  14. Tracking project schedule milestones and critical actions.
  15. Conducting stakeholder meetings to monitor progress.
  16. Reviewing as-built documents and project closeout items.
  17. Leading multidisciplinary project teams, including subcontractors and vendors.
  18. Maintaining clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  19. Maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  20. Ensuring integration of battery systems with existing infrastructure.
  21. Monitoring health and safety aspects of retrofit activities, ensuring compliance with standards.
  22. Adhering to SOX controls where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience, including in battery retrofit projects.
  • Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, OSHA 500/510, BCSP credentials (OHST, ASP, CSP, CHST), CPR.
  • Experience in implementing and monitoring QA/QC or safety plans.
  • Excellent time management and relationship-building skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Fluency in Korean is advantageous.
