Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Purchasing Manager to develop and negotiate division sourcing agreements and to manage supplier/trade partner relationships across homebuilding categories. The role focuses on sourcing quality partners, cost efficiency, and adherence to production schedules.

Responsibilities include audits, onboarding, cost modeling, and value-engineering with partners. Travel to sites will be required to assess performance and ensure alignment with purchasing goals.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years sourcing and managing supplier/trade partner relationships.
• Superior analytical and communication skills.
• JDE/AS400 experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Significant knowledge of the residential homebuilding industry.
• Sound financial management knowledge.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Effective negotiating and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, negotiate, and execute division sourcing agreements for specific spend categories.
• Ensure top-quality trade partners for production needs, focusing on quality, scheduling, and pricing.
• Conduct trade partner audits, assess quality and adherence to schedules.
• Source, contract, negotiate, and onboard new trade partners with required insurance.
• Travel to sites to assess trade partner performance and report to the Director of Purchasing.
• Implement material sourcing strategies to optimize supply chain flow.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices for designated categories.
• Facilitate value-engineering sessions with trade partners and division associates.
• Develop should-cost models for cost estimation and optimization.
• Monitor and improve divisional cost per square foot for specified categories.
