Job summary

WELBRO is seeking a Project Superintendent to lead diverse trades on a major commercial project in Florida. You will supervise the Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, and craft employees, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and budget compliance.

You will develop and manage CPM-based look-ahead plans, coordinate subcontractors, maintain thorough records, and mentor junior staff to grow leadership capabilities. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years in a construction supervisor role.
• Experience on commercial buildings, distribution centers, or education facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret CPM schedules and critical-path activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, and Craft employees assigned to the project.
• Ensure safety program implementation and compliant record-keeping on site.
• Monitor productivity and subcontractor performance to meet schedule and budget.
• Advise senior management on risks and conflicts and help resolve them.
• Develop and maintain two- to three-week look-ahead schedules aligned to CPM baseline.
• Coordinate pre-con, weekly subcontractor meetings, and safety walks.
• Maintain project diaries, logs, RFIs, submittal logs, and agreements.
• Collaborate with project management, engineers, preconstruction, and subcontractors to meet plans.
• Oversee on-the-job training and promote high performers to leadership roles.
• Prepare weekly Site Manager reports for senior leadership.

Key Duties

• Leads and supervises the Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, and Craft employees (Trades Supervisor and Tradesman) assigned to the project.
• Ensures implementation of safety program that creates a safe and healthy work environment throughout the jobsite and complies with safety and record-keeping requirements.
• Takes the lead on productivity issues and monitors work performance and efficiency of subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and the project is built on schedule and within budget.
• Advises senior level management of potential problems, work interference, or schedule difficulties and assist in precluding or resolving such conflicts. Helps develop and implement solutions.
• Contributes to the development of a thoughtful project pre-plan which includes a CPM schedule, work sequences, manpower utilization, material handling, storage requirements, and equipment utilization.
• Keeps senior management informed while maintaining liaison with owner, architect, and design professionals to ensure adherence to design intent and owner satisfaction. Helps to facilitate the discovery and correction of contract documents "errors and omissions" and the problem solving involved to reduce the cost incurred.
• Ensures compliance with all internal and external record-keeping requirements including employee timesheets and material delivery tickets (i.e., codes, times, prices).
• Utilizes the construction management software to perform record-keeping tasks including, but not limited to, composing daily diaries, maintaining project logs (i.e., concrete, equipment, material), and retrieving RFIs, submittal logs, and agreements.
• Collaborates with project management, project engineering, preconstruction, and subcontractors to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications and company quality standards and that materials and equipment are delivered on time as required to meet the project schedule.
• Oversees and executes on-the-job training and development initiatives for Tradesman, Field Engineers, and Assistant Site Managers. Identifies and promotes those who demonstrate strong performance and high potential to lead. Creates individual development plans and provides career development opportunities.
• Develop and maintain 2‐week / 3‐week look‐ahead schedules, short-interval plans aligned to the CPM baseline; sequence subcontractors to protect the critical path; hold trade partners accountable to scheduled durations; identify conflicts and recommend resequencing.
• Schedules and develops subcontractor pre-con and weekly sub meetings.
• Attends weekly jobsite safety walks with WELBRO’s Safety Manager and actively responds to the reports.
• Completes weekly Site Managers reports and shares with WELBRO Operation Managers

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent years of technical training
• Seven (7) years experience in a supervisor role for a commercial general contractor with at least five (5) years on e-commerce or distribution centers.
• Ten (10) years experience working on commercial building projects, industrial, or education facilities
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage field supervisors, craft employees, and subcontractors
• Well-rounded knowledge in all aspects of construction, but in-depth expertise in commercial buildings, craft activities, cost control, scheduling, and safety
• Ability to: read and interpret the project master CPM schedule; identify critical path activities and near‐critical work; understand float, logic ties, constraints, and milestones; recognize schedule risk created by field conditions
• Proficient in technology, scheduling, and project management software applications such as Primavera P6
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards and adheres to all safety regulations and procedures.
