Job summary

New Mexico Department of Transportation seeks a Senior Engineering Technician/Office Manager to manage project data, support the Project Manager and field technicians, and ensure accurate documentation. You will input updated data for project files, prepare estimates and change orders, and coordinate with the Business Plan department and crew.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, experience in office management or audits for materials testing, and knowledge of highway construction,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiar with SHARE Financial System and Business to Government Now portal.
• Experience with Labor Compliance Software tracker and Site Manager software.
• Communication skills via written correspondence, in person, and telephone.
• Office Manager or audit experience in materials testing.
• Construction inspection, highway construction, highway maintenance, surveying, draft, and highway design experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend plans, contracts, and equipment usage.

Responsibilities

• Enter updated data for project files and manuals.
• Prepare cost estimates and change orders.
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation.
• Collaborate with NMDOT Business Plan department and with the project crew.
• Monitor and review technicians' documentation and report to the Project Manager.
• Keep the department abreast of changes to directives and policies.
• Maintain assigned department equipment.
