Job summary

Baird Consulting Group seeks experienced construction professionals for Project Manager and Superintendent roles across Baltimore and Maryland. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial construction experience; varies by position.
  • Experience as Project Manager, Assistant PM, Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, POs, invoices and closeout docs.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred for field leadership positions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Develop and maintain budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, POs, change orders, RFIs, submittals, invoices, and docs.
  • Review drawings and specs to identify scope requirements and conflicts.
  • Monitor costs, commitments, billing, and financial performance.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress, risks, and actions.
  • Support subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, negotiations, and contract administration.
  • Partner with field leadership to resolve challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
  • Oversee punch-list completion, turnover docs, and closeout.
  • Direct daily field operations and coordinate site personnel.
  • Plan sequencing, site logistics, workforce, deliveries, inspections.
  • Review drawings, specs, submittals, RFIs before work.
  • Conduct daily site inspections for quality, safety, productivity, schedule.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination and safety meetings.
  • Enforce site safety and keep project site organized.
  • Coordinate with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, and PM staff.
  • Identify field conflicts and develop timely solutions.
  • Maintain daily reports, progress records, photos, and docs.
  • Manage punch-list activities, final inspections, commissioning, turnover.

Locations: Baltimore and throughout Maryland

Employment Type: Full-Time

Positions Available: Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, Assistant Superintendents, Superintendents, and Senior Superintendents

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced construction professionals to fill multiple Project Manager and Superintendent positions throughout the Baltimore metropolitan area and across Maryland.

These opportunities support a variety of commercial construction projects, including ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and occupied-facility work.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. They must be capable of coordinating subcontractors, managing schedules and budgets, maintaining project documentation, and delivering safe, high-quality projects on time.

  • Manage construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.

  • Develop and maintain short-term schedules and support the overall project schedule.
  • Plan construction sequencing, site logistics, workforce needs, deliveries, and inspections.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs before work is performed.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to monitor quality, safety, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily planning activities.
  • Enforce site safety requirements and maintain a clean, organized, and secure project site.
  • Coordinate with owners, inspectors, architects, engineers, and project management personnel.
  • Identify field conflicts and work collaboratively to develop timely solutions.
  • Maintain daily reports, progress records, photographs, and other required documentation.
  • Manage punch-list activities, final inspections, commissioning support, and turnover.
Qualifications
  • Three or more years of commercial construction experience; requirements may vary by position level.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Superintendent, or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, safety, and quality-control practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, invoices, and closeout documentation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred for field leadership positions.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Maryland.
