Job Description

Construction of a new ground‑up 10 story Research Tower including wet/dry labs, offices, and vivarium. Core labs will be provided on every lab floor and a data center dedicated to West Tower will be on the 3rd floor. The program includes a meeting center on the 2nd floor with a reception area. The landscape garden and gathering area will be provided at the remainder of the site.

What will you be doing

• Lead all aspects of the development of all assigned projects from inception through project close‑out and ensure successful delivery.
• Direct and manage outsourced construction management firms, architectural firms, and general contractors.
• Collaborate and work with department architects, resource accounting, and support staff from project inception through completion.
• Schedule and coordinate vendors, monitor progress, and provide progress reports via internal project management software, meetings, and reporting structures.
• Lead the team assigned to departmental projects (Project Management, Cost Control, Technical Advisory Staff, etc.).
• Participate in entire project evaluation and development; make recommendations concerning cost, scheduling, and construction issues.
• Manage work of department staff on all new projects including Support Specialist, Project Coordinators, Planner/Designer, Interiors staff, Signage/Wayfinding, and MAs.
• Initiate and participate in productivity and quality improvements, including benchmarking with other facilities and supervising progress.
• Prepare, review, and monitor budgets and all project dollar expenditure financial performance.
• Supervise the construction process, including scheduling vendors, monitoring progress, and providing progress reports; review and evaluate the general condition of the project location.
• Ensure project compliance with all Medical Center policies, OSHPD policies, OSHA requirements, federal/state/local regulations, and Joint Commission requirements.
• Communicate with customers positively and professionally; serve as part of the design and construction teams; work closely with Facilities Management and other internal departments.
• Lead all aspects of the maintenance and updating of project data into a CSMC project management and as‑built plan system.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements: Five (5) plus years of experience in the construction and renovation of health care facilities, with a proven track record coordinating all phases of health facility construction.

Educational/Certification Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (preferred). PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred.
