Job summary

Beckenhauer Construction, Inc. seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead crews and subcontractors on Norfolk projects from planning through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will manage schedules and budgets, control documentation, contracts, RFIs and closeout activities, and maintain clear, proactive communication with owners, architects, and accounting.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, P6, Procore, iAuditor and Bluebeam preferred.
• Strong understanding of drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with owner contracts and subcontract agreements, including scope, terms, responsibilities, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Pre-construction leadership: review designs and support estimating, coordinate permits, insurance, and system setup.
• Schedule & cost management: build and manage project schedule, monitor costs, address issues early.
• Documentation control: oversee submittals, RFIs, change activity, and pay applications, ensure accuracy.
• Quality, safety & communication: maintain field presence, lead meetings with owners and subcontractors.
• Project closeout: coordinate punch lists, inspections, and closeout documentation.
