Job summary

ProspectBlue is assisting a well-established construction company in Charlottesville, VA to hire a Project Manager who will lead projects from kickoff through closeout. You’ll balance client relationships with on-site leadership to keep safety, schedule, and budget in check.

You'll own the full lifecycle of projects, manage budgets and subcontracts, coordinate with operations and field teams, and mentor junior engineers and PMs. This role blends office and site work.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of contract compliance and construction documentation.
• Comfort splitting time between the office and active job sites.
• Willingness to work around equipment, weather and PPE requirements.
• Collaborative, communicative approach touching many parts of the business.

Responsibilities

• Full project lifecycle management — from scope review and handoff through final completion.
• Budgets, cost codes, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change order pricing/negotiation.
• Submittals, RFIs, and project scheduling (with regular client updates).
• Payment applications, invoicing, and cost-to-complete forecasting.
• Field process oversight — two-week look aheads, daily huddles, safety compliance.
• Coordinating closely with Operations, Estimating, and field superintendents.
• Mentoring and evaluating Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Assistant PMs.
