Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting seeks a Construction Project Manager to support our flagship store expansion and a pipeline of new venues across the Los Angeles area. You will interpret architectural drawings, manage budgets, schedules, and site development, and coordinate with GC, MEP engineers, architects, landlords, and city officials.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in hospitality/retail construction, hands-on permitting, and strong knowledge of LA/CA building codes.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Construction Project Manager to assist with our flagship store and many more to come!

Construction Project Manager Responsibilities

• Design & Planning: Understand architectural drawings, floor plans, and 3D renderings to ensure brand alignment and operational efficiency across new builds.
• Project Management & Site Development: Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation across the construction lifecycle. Evaluate potential sites, understand building systems, and navigate local building codes and permitting in the LA area.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Source, vet, and manage General Contractors, MEP engineers, architects, landlords, and city officials. Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Financial & Risk Management: Oversee bidding processes, change orders, cost controls, and procurement of equipment and materials.

Construction Project Manager Requirements

• Experience: 4–6 years in architectural design and construction project management within the hospitality, restaurant, or entertainment/retail sectors.
• Focus & Mindset: Stronger focus on hands-on construction project management, site development, and permitting coordination rather than pure architectural design. Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar design tools, plus project management software (e.g., Procore, Monday.com). Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems and LA/California building codes. AIA licensure is preferred but not required.
• Portfolio Requirement: Candidates must provide work samples or a portfolio showing design drawings they personally created and actual projects where they managed design, permitting, or construction progress.
