Job summary

Barton Malow Builders in Charlottesville, VA is expanding its team on healthcare, higher education, and sports projects. The Construction Project Manager will lead the delivery of complex programs from early procurement through commissioning, collaborating with owners, architects, and trade partners.

Responsibilities include planning, procurement, field operations, cost management and stakeholder management, while fostering a safety-first culture and maintaining schedule and budget integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 6+ years’ experience in GC/CM Construction Management.
• Healthcare construction experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Procurement: develop bidders lists, bidding strategy, bid documents, pre-bid meetings, bidder questions, subcontracts, bid reviews.
• Planning: set up complex project schedules, site logistics, cash flow and manpower projections, constructability reviews, evaluate estimates, jobsite mobilization.
• Field Operations: establish safety plan, manage punchlists, labor relations, crisis procedures, equipment coordination, BIM/MEP coordination.
• Cost Management: manage general conditions budget, set up trade budgets, monitor costs, change management, subcontract issuance, profitability tracking.
• Management: lead meetings, process RFIs and submittals, maintain filing systems, interface with code officials, support RFPs and client relations.
