Job description

Overview

The ideal candidate will oversee projects from bidding to execution. You will work with senior management and act as the point of contact for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage multiple commercial/industrial construction and maintenance projects.
  • Work with clients to develop and organize full-scale project plans, specifications, and scopes of work for projects of various disciplines.
  • Be knowledgeable and skilled in a wide range of construction techniques and provide project oversight; lead planning and implementation of project requirements.
  • Read and interpret complex project drawings and develop detailed project cost estimates involving installation of industrial equipment and fabrication/installation of industrial piping systems.
  • Perform research into various techniques, means, and methods required to execute project requirements.
  • Review project work scopes for multiple projects in developmental stages to determine tasks, resource requirements, and assist with estimates and budget development.
  • Oversee manpower coordination and distribution between multiple projects and crafts.
  • Assist in the selection of and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Develop and submit construction permit applications.
  • Maintain open communications with company personnel, management, and multiple clients; provide administrative oversight and scheduling support to various trades.
  • Maintain project documentation required to ensure oversight and compliance with specifications on numerous projects.
Qualifications
  • Well-qualified candidates should possess a high school degree; post-secondary education is desirable but can be offset by at least 10 years of field experience in project oversight and/or construction management.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex project drawings and develop detailed project cost estimates for industrial equipment installation and piping systems.
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
  • Trained in health and safety requirements of working in an industrial environment.
  • Proven experience in people management, teamwork, change management, risk management, and negotiation.
  • Trained in administration and use of company procedures for performing responsibilities; experience with project control methods and computerized project management/scheduling programs, spreadsheets, and word-processing software.
