Job summary

ARCO a Family of Construction Companies is offering a Project Manager Co-op in Michigan for 6–8 months. The internship requires you to take a semester off and participate full-time, with responsibilities spanning estimating, scheduling, and design review.

You will gain hands-on experience in permitting, buyout, and site visits, while building strong communication and professional skills. ARCO provides competitive compensation, housing stipend, and potential path to full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Civil/Mechanical/Architectural or Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Previous Internship or Co-op construction experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Estimating – describe project proposals and assign dollar values.
• Scheduling – create a working timeline for subcontractors and trades.
• Design meetings – attend meetings with owner and team.
• Buyout – issue bid instructions, schedule and drawings to subs and evaluate proposals.
• Permitting – fill out permit forms and submit with drawings and fees.
• Shop Drawing and Submittal Review – review submissions and coordinate with PM.
• Billing – handle subcontracts, change orders, pay requests and pay apps.
• Job Site Visits – accompany PM to ensure project runs smoothly.
