Job summary

Sherwood Staffing Partners is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead battery energy storage (BESS) projects in the Tampa area. This full-time position involves owning budgets, schedules, and coordination with owners, EPC partners, utility, and AHJs.

You will manage from preconstruction through commissioning, drive subcontracts and procurement, and ensure safe, on-plan execution on site in Tampa with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction project management experience on BESS or related electrical infrastructure.
• Strong command of project financials and scheduling.
• On-site availability in Tampa with travel.
• Experience with Procore or similar PM software.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage BESS and related energy infrastructure projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, change orders, and monthly cost reporting.
• Build and maintain the project schedule and drive trades to hit it.
• Coordinate subcontractor buyout, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and procurement of long-lead equipment.
• Serve as primary point of contact for owner, EPC partners, utility and AHJs.
• Coordinate with site superintendent and safety team to keep work safe and on plan.
• Support commissioning, punch lists, turnover documentation.

Construction Project Manager | BESS / Battery Energy Storage | Tampa, FL | $120,000 to $140,000 Base + Bonus

We are hiring a Construction Project Manager to lead battery energy storage (BESS) projects in the Tampa area. This is a full time, direct hire role with a builder that has real backlog in the storage space and is expanding its project management bench to keep up with it.

You will own your projects. Budget, schedule, subs, owner communication, and the field team all run through you, and you will have leadership that actually backs your decisions instead of second guessing them from a distance.

What you will be doing

• Managing BESS and related energy infrastructure projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout
• Owning project budgets, forecasting, change orders, and monthly cost reporting
• Building and maintaining the project schedule, and driving the trades to hit it
• Running subcontractor buyout, contracts, submittals, RFIs, and procurement of long lead equipment (containers, PCS, transformers, switchgear)
• Serving as the primary point of contact for the owner, EPC partners, utility, and AHJs
• Coordinating closely with the site superintendent and safety team to keep the work safe and on plan
• Supporting commissioning, punch list, substantial completion, and turnover documentation

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of construction project management experience, with hands on involvement in at least one BESS, solar plus storage, substation, or similar electrical infrastructure project
• Strong command of project financials, scheduling, and subcontractor management
• Comfortable in the field and in front of the owner, and able to move between the two in the same day
• Experience with Procore or similar project management software
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in the field
• Willingness to be on site in the Tampa area, with occasional travel to project sites

Compensation and benefits

• $130,000 to $160,000 base depending on experience
