Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and deliver complex federal construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in mechanical and electrical construction, strong leadership, and the ability to manage large-scale projects on time and within budget. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage federal construction projects (domestic and international) in compliance with government regulations and contract requirements.
  • Oversee project lifecycle, including planning, procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS), and agency-specific requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, compliance reports, and closeout packages.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with federal clients, contracting officers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all quality control, safety, and environmental protocols meet USACE, DoD, OSHA, and federal standards.
  • Develop and monitor schedules, budgets, and project milestones to meet stringent requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor performance, contract compliance, and deliverables.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Lead progress meetings, prepare formal project status updates, and provide accurate reporting to senior leadership and federal officials.
  • Oversee on-site construction operations, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety guidelines, and contractual requirements.
  • Support audits, inspections, and federal compliance reviews as required.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical/electrical project management, including estimating.
  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and construction management tools (HeavyBid, Primavera, Civil 3D, Bluebeam).
  • Strong grasp of project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain with company support).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel (10–15%), primarily within Georgia.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
