Job summary

Met-Con, Inc. is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead onsite structural steel erection and miscellaneous metals projects. You will coordinate with teams to ensure schedules and quality, review specifications, and prepare critical documents for progress tracking and change orders.

Ideal candidates have PM experience in steel fabrication/erection, knowledge of AISC/PCI standards, and strong client relationship skills to manage stakeholders and subcontractors effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior PM experience in steel fabrication/erection or miscellaneous metals.
• A valid US driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of AISC and PCI standards is preferred.
• Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred.
• Understanding mathematics and possessing basic field tools for measurements.
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures.
• Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in steel construction.
• Knowledge of Tekla and Fabtrol software programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage structural steel erection and miscellaneous metals installation projects.
• Collaborate with teams to create comprehensive project schedules.
• Review specifications, prepare critical documents, and maintain detailed progress reports.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders, deducts, and proposals with clients.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, fabricators, and other project stakeholders.

Your day as a Project Manager

You will oversee and manage structural steel erection and miscellaneous metals installation projects. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure project success, from participating in steel detailing to creating comprehensive schedules. You will be responsible for reviewing specifications, preparing critical documents, and maintaining detailed reports to track progress as well as preparing and negotiating change orders, deducts, and proposals with clients.

Effective communication and strong client relationships will be key in this role, as you coordinate with subcontractors, fabricators, and other project stakeholders.
