Job summary

Zaremba Group, headquartered in Lakewood, Ohio, seeks a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee multiple freestanding retail projects from bidding through tenant turnover. You will coordinate general contractors and consultants and collaborate with Real Estate, Development Management, and Finance teams to keep programs on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of retail PM experience, a Bachelor's in construction management or civil engineering, strong MS Excel/MS

Responsibilities

• Ability to fully comprehend and review construction drawings as these are the integral component of the construction contract, and proper management of the project.
• Ability to manage all aspects of the construction bid process, negotiate and award construction contracts, including the evaluation and management of change orders in relation to project budgets.
• Perform on-site project management and resolve problems in concert with the GC’s and tenant construction representatives while maintaining project schedules.
• Ability to coordinate and work with utility companies, architects, engineers, and governmental agencies to maintain the construction schedule.
• Ability to manage multiple resources within a given project, adhering to strict deadlines and budgets.
• Ability to ascertain and solve construction issues early in the construction schedule.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
• Performs project close out procedure based on national retailer requirements.
• Assist in project estimating and the creation of initial project construction budgets and updated budgets throughout the project life cycle. Managing project costs is critical to company success.
• Ability to generate project schedule and maintain this schedule while proactively managing external challenges.
• Ability to provide value-engineering ideas to help reduce project costs and schedule.

Position Summary

Candidates will be responsible for managing multiple freestanding retail projects and must be able to coordinate all construction processes from bidding, project management to tenant turnover. Experience required in managing multiple general contractors and consultants; proven ability to work with major national retailers. This position requires interaction with multiple internal departments to include Real Estate, Development Management, and Finance/Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years’ experience preferred in construction project management with a strong retail construction background. Experience working for a General Contractor and “ground-up” projects a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Computer skills; MS Office suite with emphasis on using MS Excel and MS project.
• Strong relationships and development experience with major national and regional retailers is preferred.
• High degree of personal initiative and judgment

POSITION DETAILS

Location: On‑site at our Lakewood, Ohio headquarters, 14600 Detroit Avenue

Travel: 35–40%, depending on client and project locale.
