Job summary

ATMI Precast in Aurora, IL is seeking a Project Manager to take full ownership of large precast construction projects from design through completion. You will be the primary contact for clients, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule goals are met.

This role leads cross-functional teams and requires accountability, proactive communication, and a track record of delivering exceptional project outcomes for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 510 years of experience in commercial construction project management (precast or concrete preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, submittals, drawings, and change management processes.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam (AutoCAD/Tekla/Trimble are a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project scope and risks.
  • Assemble and lead internal project teams across engineering, drafting, production, field, and quality control.
  • Conduct kickoff meetings and communicate goals, schedules, and deliverables clearly.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones and critical paths.
  • Manage contracts from award through execution and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and administer change orders with proper documentation and approvals.
  • Identify risks, exposure, and cost impacts in a timely manner.
  • Provide weekly progress and financial status reports to leadership.
  • Oversee field activities and coordinate installation schedules with contractors and crews.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and process improvements.

As a Project Manager at ATMI Precast, you will take full ownership of large, complex construction projects from design through completion. Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing precast construction projects from contract award through final delivery. This position leads all project phases, including scheduling, coordination, budgeting, client relations, and risk management. The Project Manager serves as the key liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.

Project Leadership and Planning
  • Review bid documents, drawings, and specifications to identify project scope, risks, and unique requirements
  • Assemble and lead the internal project team, coordinating with engineering, drafting, production, field, and quality control departments.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and communicate goals, schedules, and deliverables clearly across all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with defined milestones and critical paths.
Contract and Change Management
  • Manage contracts from award through execution and ensure compliance with all terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate subcontracts, evaluate proposals, and track commitments.
  • Prepare and administer change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks, exposure, and cost impacts in a timely manner.
Financial Management and Reporting
  • Assist the Contract Administrator with monthly billings and project cash flow.
  • Review and approve project schedule of values, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and retention tracking.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide weekly progress and financial status reports to the Director of Project Management.
Client Relations and Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the project.
  • Build strong client relationships through proactive communication and consistent follow-up.
  • Represent ATMI Precast professionally in meetings, site visits, and correspondence.
  • Resolve project issues and conflicts quickly and effectively to maintain customer satisfaction.
Project Execution and Closeout
  • Oversee field activities and coordinate installation schedules with contractors and erection crews.
  • Manage punch lists and project closeout documentation.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and process improvements.
  • Ensure timely collection of retainage and outstanding balances.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 510 years of experience in commercial construction project management (precast or concrete preferred).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of contracts, submittals, drawings, and change management processes.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam (experience with AutoCAD, Tekla, or Trimble products is a plus).
