Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Construction Project Manager to direct daily operations for capital projects in Albany, OR. You will partner with project managers, engineering, operations, EHS, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient execution per approved plans.

Responsibilities include onboarding and supervising contractors, tracking schedules and costs, reviewing drawings, coordinating site logistics, and maintaining thorough project records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of construction management experience on industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience managing contractors and multiple construction workstreams on active operating sites.
• Strong understanding of construction safety programs, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor safety management.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost tracking, progress reporting, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage contractor onboarding, safety orientation, and field oversight while ensuring compliance with site policies and permit-to-work procedures.
• Track project schedules, manpower utilization, and construction progress; address risks, delays, and resource constraints.
• Review engineering drawings, construction documents, and scopes of work to identify constructability concerns and propose solutions.
• Coordinate site logistics: material deliveries, equipment access, staging, and work area management.
• Support project cost management by validating contractor labor hours, reviewing invoices, and monitoring budget performance.
• Ensure construction activities comply with building codes, environmental standards, and company requirements.
• Maintain detailed project records: daily reports, change docs, punch lists, redlines, turnover packages.
• Facilitate construction meetings, safety discussions, contractor coordination, and status reviews.
• Assist with equipment start-up, commissioning, testing, and project closeout activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across stakeholders.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of construction management experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, food production, or heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience managing contractors and multiple construction workstreams on active operating sites.
• Strong understanding of construction safety programs, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, and contractor safety management.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling, cost tracking, progress reporting, and project controls.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Experience coordinating with engineering, operations, maintenance, and project management teams.
• Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software platforms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience supporting capital projects within a manufacturing environment.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent construction safety training.
• Experience with commissioning and startup activities.
• Familiarity with CMMS, project controls systems, or scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• PMP, CCM, or related industry certification.

Work Environment

Located in Albany, the position is part of a long-term contract within the capex team. There are multiple consultants currently in the role for 2-3 years. The company offers a diverse workload that extends out for 4-5 years, providing longevity and stability. Employees benefit from 15 days of vacation preloaded and reloaded each year, along with paid holidays including Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Good Friday, and a floating holiday.

This is a Contract position based out of Albany, OR.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
