HATZEL & BUEHLER, Inc. College Internship Program aims to expose students to the construction industry through hands-on project management experiences. The Project Management Intern will work under Branch and Project Managers, gaining insight into scope, schedule, budget, and client communications on real projects.

Fall 2026/Spring 2027/Summer 2027 start dates are available. Location is Charleston, WV. Salary ranges from $15.00 to $25.00 per hour, with opportunities to learn ERP processes and

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong interest in the construction field with basic understanding of processes.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to communicate effectively in a team.
• Eager to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing projects by supporting scope, cost, schedule and efficiency.
• Support communication between project teams, clients, subcontractors and vendors.
• Review plans, specifications and contract requirements to understand scope.
• Track progress and update project status in the ERP system.
• Prepare and submit payment requisitions, submittals, change orders, and closeout docs.
• Document changes to scope and assist in change management.
• Collaborate to meet milestones, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Attend job meetings and help with notes and follow-ups.
• Coordinate materials and subcontractor activities with purchasing.
