Job summary

Russell in Davenport, IA is seeking a Construction Project Intern to join our project teams for hands-on exposure to how commercial construction gets built, from preconstruction through closeout. You will work closely with a Project Manager or Superintendent, carry real responsibilities, and see your work appear on an actual jobsite.

This is not a shadow role; you will contribute meaningfully and gain mentorship in a collaborative Midwest environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with RFIs, submittals, and change orders in Procore.
• Assist with scheduling coordination and subcontractor communication.
• Participate in jobsite walks, safety meetings, inspections, quality control, and progress documentation.
• Help track project progress and organize project files, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Compile punch lists and closeout documentation.
• Shadow estimating and preconstruction activities; gather data for estimates, drawings, and takeoffs.

About the Role

Russell is taking applications for 2027 Construction Project Interns now! Join our project teams for hands‑on exposure to how commercial construction actually gets built — from preconstruction through closeout. This isn't a shadow-and-observe internship. You'll be paired with a Project Manager or Superintendent, carry real responsibilities, and see your work show up on an actual jobsite.

How You’ll Contribute

• Support Project Managers with RFIs, submittals, and change orders in Procore
• Assist with scheduling coordination and subcontractor communication
• Participate in jobsite walks, safety meetings and inspections, quality control and progress documentation
• Help track project progress and organize projects files, subcontracts and purchase orders.
