Job summary

Balfour Beatty US, a leading contractor, seeks a Business Manager to oversee financial management for projects, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver accurate cost forecasts. This role reports to the Project Manager and supports the region with financial controls and reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and have 2–4 years of experience on projects up to $50M, with strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-4 years of financial management experience on small projects up to $50m; prefer 1-2 years in engineering, construction or manufacturing.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates ability to perform key responsibilities.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports.
• Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operations.
• Strong PC skills and software proficiency.
• Budgeting and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the financial records of the project in accordance with BBII SOPs and GAAP; support invoicing, AP, reports.
• Provide monthly financial reports to Divisional and Corporate Management.
• Prepare detailed Project and overhead cost / revenue forecasts.
• Maintain a control environment consistent with BBII SOPs.
• Cash forecasting and management.
• Perform responsibilities in a hands-on team environment.
• Oversee the preparation, evaluation and accuracy of budgets and reports.
• Summarize and forecast income, expenses, and budget vs. actual.
• Monitor and report actual results vs. KPIs; propose improvements.
• Lead monthly SG&A review process and cost-reduction ideas.
