Job summary

Balfour Beatty Infrastructure, Inc in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Project Business Manager to lead project finances, forecasting, and reporting to Division Controller and corporate management. You will maintain GAAP-compliant records and support the operational team with detailed forecasts and budgets.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 5–10 years of financial management experience, preferably in engineering/construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-10 years of financial management experience. Prefer a minimum of 3 years experience in the engineering, construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to collect and assemble data for the development of financial reports.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting methods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operations.
  • Strong PC skills and software proficiency.
  • Strong managerial/leadership skills.
  • Budgeting and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the financial records of the project in accordance with BBII SOPs and GAAP.
  • Providing monthly financial reports to Divisional and Corporate Management.
  • Assisting operational team in preparing detailed Project forecasts including overhead cost / revenue forecasts.
  • Maintaining a control environment consistent with BBII SOPs.
  • Cash forecasting and management.
  • Train, Manage the site business teams.
  • Perform responsibilities in a Hands-on team environment.
  • Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and accuracy of budgets and other financial operating reports.
  • Prepare and summarize reports that forecast the financial position about income, expenses and budget vs actual.
  • Monitor and report actual results vs KPI; provide continuous improvement plans.
  • Analyze variances and provide recommendations to management.
  • Review operating expenses and lead monthly SG&A review process.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager/Division Controller.

Responsibilities
  • maintaining the financial records of the project in accordance with BBII Standard Operating Procedures and GAAP, as well as all support functions (e.g., invoicing, preparation of reports, etc.).
  • providing monthly financial reports to Divisional and Corporate Management;
  • assisting operational team in preparing detailed Project forecasts including overhead cost / revenue forecasts;
  • maintaining a control environment consistent with BBII SOP’s;
  • cash forecasting and management.
Other Responsibilities
  • Train, Manage the site business teams.
  • Perform responsibilities in a “Hands‑on” team environment;
  • Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and accuracy of budgets and other financial operating reports;
  • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of reports that summarize and forecast the financial position in regard to income and expenses and budget versus actual performance;
  • Monitor and report actual results vs. key business performance indicators. Provide management with continuous improvement plans to sustain and drive improvements throughout the business;
  • Analyze financial reports for variances from forecasted, budgeted, and benchmarked performance and provide recommendations to management team;
  • Review operating expenses and provide recommendation to management on ideas for cost reductions and lead a monthly SG&A review process;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager/Division Controller.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
