Job summary

Divcon Controls, based in Dallas, TX, seeks a Project Financial Analyst to support budgeting, cost control, and reporting for construction projects. You will work with estimators, project managers, and field teams to ensure projects stay on budget and profitability is maximized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, construction management, business administration, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); experience with construction software (Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, Foundation) is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple active projects and deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication with office and field personnel.
• Familiarity with construction practices (job costing, change orders, retainage, progress billing) is strongly preferred.
• 2+ years in project financial analysis, cost control, or related analytical role in construction/ subcontracting environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and refining project budgets, cost forecasts, and financial plans with estimators, project managers, and leads during bidding, pre-construction, and execution.
• Monitor actual expenditures against budgets; analyze variances weekly and work with teams to mitigate overruns.
• Prepare regular project financial reports, including cost-to-complete forecasts, earned value analyses, and cash-flow projections.
• Collaborate with project teams to gather real-time cost data and validate progress for accurate tracking.
• Review subcontractor/vendor invoices and billings to ensure alignment with contracts and change orders.
• Maintain comprehensive project financial documentation (change logs, lien waivers, budgets) and ensure audit readiness.
• Identify process improvements in costing/reporting/workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Support project close-out activities with final cost reconciliations and profitability analysis.
• Perform other duties to support accounting and finance and project execution.
