Job Overview
Title: Project Manager, Construction (Plante Moran Realpoint, LLC). Location: Southfield, MI. 2–3 days per week onsite at client sites, up to 25% overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Plan project logistics, including vendor contracting strategy, internal team responsibilities, and client engagement to develop overall project structure.
- Lead multiple large‑scope projects simultaneously.
- Assess legal and financing impacts on project structure.
- Identify and resolve project risk factors such as AHJ requirements, design/engineering management, and construction methods.
- Manage multiple vendors, ensuring contractual obligations are met and activities are prioritized.
- Procure services for construction and supplemental vendors necessary for execution.
- Coordinate and monitor vendor activities for compliance with contractual responsibilities.
- Facilitate decision‑making processes within the program.
- Monitor budget, schedule, and project risk items; facilitate issue resolution.
- Implement and ensure compliance with P&M and PMR policies and procedures, including internal reporting.
- Participate in and lead team development, providing mentoring and coaching on performance.
Qualifications
- Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree from an accredited institution.
- 15+ years experience in development, owner’s representation, design, or construction fields.
- Preferred experience working for an Owner’s Facility Team or as a consultant.
- Desirable: construction cost estimating experience.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and project scheduling software such as Primavera.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Metro Detroit area; willing to travel throughout the region and occasional overnight travel.
- Exempt position; may require hours exceeding the standard 40‑hour work week.
Compensation
Salary range: $150,000 to $190,000, depending on location and experience.
