Job summary

Pacific Building Group is seeking a Project Engineer in San Diego to help plan and schedule projects, allocate resources, and provide technical direction while enforcing quality standards. You will manage documentation, schedules, safety, and coordination with field teams and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

The role requires a related degree and 1+ year of experience, with proficiency in MS Office and project software; familiarity with Primavera P6, Procore and related tools is a

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer.
• Understanding of construction means and methods for renovation/construction of commercial and institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with MS Office and project software; knowledge of Primavera P6, Timberline, Prolog, Procore is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project documentation (subcontracts, RFIs, submittals).
• Prepare and update Master project schedule and review look-ahead schedules.
• Support field supervisors and activities; assist permitting and ensure code compliance.
• Review submittals for accuracy and conformance to specs.
• Maintain safety culture and ensure orderly project execution.
• Coordinate with clients' IS department, vendors, and security.
• Prepare proposals, assist in interviews; participate in marketing.
• Manage changes in scope and document control.
• Closeout and punch list management.
