Job summary

S&B Services is seeking a Project Manager in Amarillo, TX who is passionate about construction to lead projects from start to finish, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and budget control.

You will coordinate with clients and design teams, develop preliminary budgets, review subcontractor scopes, and manage procurement, scheduling, and site logistics while guiding preconstruction and on-site teams to deliver high-quality results and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's of Engineering program, Construction Management or related field of study.
• Open to fulltime opportunity post grad.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Prior construction internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from preconstruction through closeout.
• Work with clients and design team to develop preliminary drawings and project budget.
• Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, reduce costs, and negotiate contracts & fees.
• Oversee subcontractor selection, buyout, and vendor management.
• Identify opportunities to procure materials or equipment to fit budget or schedule.
• Develop/review subcontractor scopes, schedule, and site logistics plan.
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subs, and vendors.
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site during construction.
• Track and manage performance vs budget; prepare pay apps and progress bills.
• Local travel to project sites within the city is required.

About You:

S&B Services is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager who is passionate about the construction process to join our team in Amarillo.

A Day in the Life:

• Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
• Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget
• Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
• Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
• Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
• Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
• Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
• Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports
• Local travel to project sites within the city is required
