Construction Project Engineer — Growth to Project Manager

Job summary

MW Building Systems, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support our Project Manager and Superintendent on active commercial construction projects in Waipahu and across Oʻahu. This technical role ensures documentation, coordination, and communication keep projects moving efficiently from start to finish.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, 3+ years of construction experience, and proficiency with relevant software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of construction experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Procore or Bluebeam is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively.
• Growth path toward Project Manager.
• Familiar with Primavera scheduling programming.
• Familiar with Total Station Robotic surveying.
• Familiar with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Assist with subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and project cost tracking.
• Compile pay application backup and process subcontractor invoices for Project Manager review.
• Maintain project documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Support project scheduling and material procurement.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants on technical questions and constructability.
• Review, approve and log incoming submittals.
• Support ongoing on-site safety compliance.
• Track subcontractor procurement of long-lead material items to prevent schedule gaps and delays.
• Help maintain the weekly look-ahead schedule (crew and subcontractor coordination).
• Quality control, field documentation, and punch-list completion.
• Familiarity with estimating.
