Job summary

PULLMAN, a Structural Group Company, seeks a Project Engineer as part of the PECD program in our Detroit office. You will learn in-field construction skills, support multiple projects, and collaborate with the Detroit team across commercial, historical restoration, and underground pipe services.

The role emphasizes problem solving, time management, and clear communication, with a pipeline to higher roles in project management, estimating, and construction management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CM, Civil Eng or related field.
  • GPA 2.8 or higher.
  • At least one relevant internship.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for solving problems.
  • Reliable transportation from office to job-sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop critical construction skills through field learning within the PECD program.
  • Support multiple projects across commercial, historical restoration, and pipe services.
  • Collaborate with the Detroit team to manage scheduling, estimating, and client relations.
  • Ensure safety, quality control, and timely delivery of project milestones.

Our Project Engineers will build experience across multiple competencies before being promoted into the career path they desire - project management, estimating, construction management and more.

About The Team

Our Project Engineer role will be an in-office position supported by our PULLMAN Detroit team located in Trenton, MI. Our PULLMAN Detroit team has a diverse scope of projects, ranging from commercial to historical restoration to underground pipe services. Throughout your tenure as a Project Engineer, you can expect to support multiple projects within these industries.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree- preference for Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  • A minimum of one relevant internship experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional documentation and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for solving problems.
  • Reliable transportation from the office to job-sites.
