Job summary

Reed Construction's Chicago Headquarters is seeking a Project Engineer to support schedule development, budgets, and documentation across multiple projects. You will collaborate with vendors, track materials and progress, and attend meetings to keep teams aligned.

This office-based role requires a Bachelor's in Construction Engineering or Construction Management, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to learn Procore and Microsoft Project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Basic understanding of construction techniques, drawings, and materials.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to learn and use project management software like Procore and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of project schedules and budgets.
• Gather pricing with vendors and ensure timely follow-up.
• Perform estimates, takeoffs, and manage project documentation.
• Track construction materials, equipment, and progress.
• Attend project meetings, record notes, keep teams aligned.
• Assist in gathering and distributing closeout documents for project completion.
• Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's or the Superintendent's direction.
