Job summary

J. Benton Construction in the U.S. Virgin Islands seeks a Project Engineer to manage critical project information, support field operations, and coordinate between internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants. You will track RFIs, submittals, materials, safety docs, and drawing updates for successful project delivery.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and a proactive approach to issue resolution, with opportunities to grow within a collaborative Caribbean team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with construction project documentation and workflows.
• Familiarity with safety documentation and field reporting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage project document control for RFIs, submittals, drawings, and safety documentation.
• Prepare and submit RFIs and submittals through Procore and track responses.
• Coordinate field reporting activities including punch lists, observations, and progress photos.
• Track delivery schedules and verify materials on site.
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action logs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

OSHA 10/30 certification
