Job summary

Key Construction, a leading commercial contractor in the DFW region, seeks a Project Engineer to support project managers in planning and delivering building projects.

The role involves coordinating bids, planning daily construction activities, managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring safety and quality. Strong communication with owners and teams is essential; a Bachelor's in a related field and valid driver's license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Engineer in the construction industry is preferred.
  • Working with a general contractor background is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing building construction and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate bids and perform functions of an Assistant Project Manager to coordinate/execute projects.
  • Plan and coordinate construction activities on a daily basis.
  • Establish budget and schedule for construction project.
  • Monitor and control expenses within the established budget.
  • Analyze construction problems and develop immediate resolutions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Identify slippages or delays and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Identify milestones and recommend preventive actions.
  • Develop project plan, quality assurance plan and health and safety plan with PM.
  • Analyze RFI responses and monitor/change orders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external client representatives.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in DFW.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing building construction and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate bids as well as perform all the functions of an Assistant Project Manager to help coordinate/execute projects.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Prior experience as a Project Engineer in the Construction Industry with a General Contractor is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Management, Engineering or other related field is helpful.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
