Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Project Engineer to assist in planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects in Detroit. You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design partners to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 35+ years of commercial construction experience in a Project Engineer role.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, drawing interpretation, and project controls.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office, and scheduling software.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Superintendent with cost control and schedule management.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change requests, and logs.
• Support project buyout, subcontract administration, and procurement.
• Assist with preparation and maintenance of project schedules, including look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor project costs, support forecasting, and assist with quantity tracking.
