Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a Project Engineer/PM for a fully on‑site role in Mukilteo, WA. You will coordinate civil and building construction activities, oversee procurement, and drive schedules with field teams.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of project engineering/management experience, plus hands‑on structural concrete and earthwork exposure. Strong communication and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction Project Engineer or Project Management experience.
• Structural concrete project experience required.
• Civil, sitework, earthwork, or underground utilities experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating subcontractor and supplier, RFIs, submittals, scheduling, billing, and change orders.
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership mindset with cross‑functional coordination.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word; familiarity with MS Project/HeavyBid/Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate civil and building construction projects from procurement through completion.
• Manage material supplier and subcontractor negotiations, buyouts, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
• Coordinate RFIs and submittals to keep projects moving efficiently.
• Create, review, and interpret construction schedules.
• Prepare schedules of values and manage monthly project billings.
• Track extra work and prepare change order proposals.
• Price and negotiate change orders while maintaining project docs.
• Support self‑performed structural concrete, earthwork, and underground utilities.
• Collaborate with field leadership, subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve issues while maintaining schedule, quality, and cost objectives.

• Join an established, highly experienced general contractor delivering complex civil, municipal, and institutional construction projects.


• Take ownership of meaningful projects involving structural concrete, earthwork, underground utilities, sitework, and building construction.


• Work closely with experienced field teams and leadership while continuing to grow your project management expertise.


• Enjoy a stable Monday through Friday, 40-hour workweek with no-cost medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents after 90 days.

Location:

Note:

Candidates must have 3+ years of construction Project Engineer or Project Management experience and hands‑on experience supporting or managing structural concrete projects. Experience with self‑performed civil construction, particularly earthwork and underground utilities, is strongly valued.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.


• Experience with Microsoft Project, HeavyJob, HeavyBid, and Bluebeam preferred.
