Job summary

MCL Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to learn how commercial construction comes together — from scheduling and documentation to cost tracking and coordination with owners, architects, and field teams.

This role emphasizes growth and hands-on exposure, working alongside project leaders on diverse projects to build a solid foundation in the craft and develop professionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or APM (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with scheduling, document control, and change management.
• Coordinate subcontractors and material suppliers.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Track costs and maintain accurate project records.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, superintendents, and internal teams.
• Participate in planning meetings, quality control, and project closeout.

Your Day-to-Day

Project Support & Documentation

• Assist with scheduling, document control, and change management
• Coordinate subcontractors and material suppliers
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
• Track costs and maintain accurate project records
• Collaborate with owners, architects, superintendents, and internal teams
• Participate in planning meetings, quality control, and project closeout

The Right Fit

You're a strong fit if you:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management , Engineering, or a related field
• Bring 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or APM (preferred)
• Can read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Are familiar with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office
• Have strong communication , organization, and problem-solving skills
• Hold a valid driver's license
• Are technically curious and eager to understand how projects truly operate
• Are detail-driven and committed to accuracy
• Are collaborative and respectful with field and office teams
• Are proactive — you don't wait for problems, you anticipate them
