Job summary

Cogentanalytics seeks a Construction Accountant to manage project accounting, job costing, and WIP for site development projects in Florida. You will ensure accurate cost tracking, GAAP revenue recognition, and strong financial controls to protect profitability and guide field operations.

Key duties include billing, AR/AP, month-end close, and detailed reporting to leadership, with collaboration across Field Operations, Estimating, and Project Management to improve forecast accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree in accounting or related field preferred; construction accounting experience considered.
• Minimum two years of construction or job-cost accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP/accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Project accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting across construction sites.
• Prepare and review billings, revenue recognition, and collections.
• Month-end close, general ledger accuracy, and GAAP compliance.
• Collaborate with Field Operations, Estimating, and Project Management on cost controls.
