Job summary

Cogent Analytics seeks a Construction Accountant to lead project financial management for site development, earthwork, and hauling projects. You will focus on job costing, revenue recognition, and financial controls to protect profitability and guide field decisions.

Responsibilities include day-to-day project accounting, cost tracking, WIP, and month-end close, with growing ownership of AP/AR and billing processes. Collaboration with Field Operations and Estimating is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of construction or job-cost accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and review project cost reports for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Track labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead allocations by project.
• Monitor project budgets versus actual costs, identify variances, and communicate issues to management.
• Prepare customer billings and revenue recognition in accordance with contracts.
• Assist with month-end close and WIP accounting.
